Astoria, Oregon

trips south of the border have been on hold for almost three years, due to Covid crisis restrictions, and subsequent pandemic-driven hesitancy...finally it was time to cross that bridge and go

the Astoria-Megler Bridge, opened in 1966, is 4 miles (6.5 km) in length...this section is 200 ft (61 m) above shipping channels on the Columbia River...it is the longest continuous-truss bridge in the world

I rode a touring bicycle across this bridge in 2003. That was a harrowing experience.
