coming and going

lots of coming and going this day...the logs in the boom are on their way to a mill to be cut into lengths of lumber...the sawdust/wood chips are residue bound for a pulp mill, and a jet plane bears witness to the presence of the international airport on Sea Island

I'm surprised they're still using log booms after the concern of bark accumulating on river bottoms. Good way to transport sawdust tho' - that would be a lot of truck loads !

I never thought of the sawdust as a recycle use. Good catch of the plane for added interest.

It is especially interesting to see all that saw dust. I never realized how it was moved around.
Helen Betts08-Jul-2019 14:35
Interesting to see how they transport whatever that is. Also great timing to get the plane in view, too.
