for the third year in a row a crisis here...the pond evaporates under the heat of a long hot summer, and only a few pathetically small puddles of water remain...some local creatures hang on, yet many others may have been wiped out...rain is in the forecsst for the end of this week, but only showers, not enough to return the pond to its normal winter depths
