Arches NP, Utah

the allure of the US Southwest is difficult to resist...this 4th trip proved rewarding too...still, it will soon be time to wrap up the current photo series set in red rock country, and move on to local scenes in the PNW

The late afternoon lighting gives such a warm coloration and creates some fine shadows to give depth to this formation.

There is something both inspiring and addictive about that red rock of the the red southwest! Arches is one of the best in my opinion to appreciate all those amazing forms, arches and shapes in all it's glory! The large shadow on the left reminds me of a cupped hand as if offering a gift.
