another marathon

the night before last a friend phoned at 9:30pm, saying he was stranded on the highway, about 1/2 an hour away, and in need of a ride home...yesterday the challenge was to repair the car at that desolate spot, involving 3 hours by the side of the busy road, with several trips to an auto parts store, which was awkward to reach from here, as various possible repairs were attempted...eventually, he got it running (it was an electrical problem and not fuel flow as first suspected)..then had to follow him home in case of further problems...we made it successfully though, and he rewarded me with a generous shot of Irish whiskey, a welcome treat after yet another (see five pix back) roadside marathon

the unusual car is an older English three-wheeler, named Robin Reliant, although less than reliable it seems

It sounded like a dangerous maneuver, working in that spot. Glad that you both are out of there.

Reliant never were that good, I can't understand why anyone would want to keep one.

A road trip for you seems to take on a whole new meaning. Even though I worked as a mechanic in my youth, I carry a AAA card and prefer somewhere other than the road side for repairs. I am glad it all worked out well and safely.

That is a great story and thankfully one with a happy ending. The car is so cool and so different. I have neither heard of or seen one before, so I thank you for increasing my automotive knowledge with this great story telling shot.

Sounds like risky business. The reward is great and I hope a very generous shot. :)

Another car adventure. Thankfully it was not the front tire that needed changing.

The Irish whiskey sounds good, so sure about the Robin, though! V
