friday night's 'supermoon scouting mission' was undertaken to identify good views to the north-east for saturday's looming lunar disc, but problematic light, and more significantly, trouble on the horizon in the form of cloud banks, suggested getting a shot might prove difficult...in fact that is often the reality here on the coast.. media previews of pending celestial events seem to work like a weather forecast, telling you that the night in question will be a cloudy one...and that turned out to be the case yesterday evening...at least some pbase friends like Bryan Murahashi and Vatorman managed excellent shots of the big yellow moon
