exhausted

Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado

either this pine tree is very tired and taking a rest, or it has collapsed under its own weight due to the shallow root system, unable to get a grip in the bedrock...either way it looked exhausted

Nikon D90
Nikkor 18-200mm - 1/800s f/10.0 at 26.0mm iso400 full exif

other sizes: small medium large auto

Very unusual indeed! But these guys once the get a foothold are usually in there for good to resist the winds. Somehow, it looks like that this one grew this way. Great catch! ~V~

Totally spent, as though the back "legs" are splayed and a left arm reaches out in despair. We have anthropomorphized a pine tree, out of sentiments for all nature's offerings.

Poor old tree. At least it found a cushion to rest on. Lovely capture of this most unusual "pose". V
