new growth

Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado

admittedly this is similar to the previous photograph, yet the perspective is slightly different...towards the western side of the ridge on Lily Mountain some of the ponderosa pines have been burnt...clearly there was a wildfire here in recent years, yet new growth has sprung up on the expanses of bare rock that are evident all over this outcrop

Nice to see such a place, rock, vegetation, water and a feeling of silence

Anther awe-spiring shot with the dead tree seeming to point to the distant peaks. V

Beautiful vista composed well here! The foreground tree remnant speaks of how difficult is the environment here. V

Awesome composition with much to see in this scene. The tarn is a nice foil for the mountains. Amazing how the trees come through the rocks. V

So "unreal," like a painted movie still for a Hitchcock drama with the protagonist (Cary Grant) sliding down the rocks to escape the bad guys. The burnt ponderosa suggests the menacing threats. Can he make it across the lake to the other side, through the forests up into the mountains?? Yes, oh, yes!

Strong composition from this vantage point shows us an expansive view over the lake and forests to the mountains. Wonderful range of colors and a nice sky with the wispy clouds. Top work David! "V"
