rescue

ironically, with the man himself off patrolling the beach, just moments after taking this photo I had to rescue the lifeguard’s own rowboat, as it floated away on the incoming tide...the wooden craft proved heavy too, but managed to drag it back a yard or so..

summer scenes like this are now a fading memory, with rain and cooler air settling in...but I’ll be flying off very early tomorrow to visit my son in Colorado, where the forecast calls for sunny times...will be back at the end of the week with pix from the continental divide

I would expect a lifeguard to be familiar with the tides, so his boat doesn't float away. Did he even know that you saved his boat? Nice photo was your reward. Voted.

Lifeguard's boat at the ready, but today's bathers seem to prefer the shoreline for their activities; and they line up nicely along the shoreline for this composition! V

Well there is irony - I have visions 'Bay Watch' style of you running across the beach into the water and rescuing the boat - or has my imagination run away with me! Nice shot and narrative.

Full fathom five
Someday I'll lie
Singing songs that come
From dead men's tongues

Anchor me, anchor me
As the compass turns
And the glass it falls
Where the storm clouds roll
And the gulls they call

Anchor Me by The Muttonbirds

It would have been embarrassing for the lifeguard to lose his boat. Lovely beach scene, I like the little one in green testing the water. V

Our hero! and the proof too. Great double capture--the rowboat and the image. Wooden boats are heavy, you did well to drag it to a stop. Wonderful the way the tiny beads of foam make scalloped patterns in the sand echoing those of the distant blue mountains. Good trip to CO.

A wonderful perspective over the busy beach. Nicely composed with the boat in the foreground and the specks of red in the background. "V"
