the Oregon coast is both beautiful and dramatic, but the weather can be fierce there in Spring. Such was the case during early April 2011. After a 9 hour drive, the trip really began upon arrival at Cannon Beach, a small and sympathetic town on the west coast of northern Oregon. The weather was not sympathetic though, grey and stormy with frequent rain. Still both location and blustery conditions set the tone for the next few days.
