inevitable

with the shocking events in Japan, concerns have been raised about what might happen here, as Vancouver sits on the opposite side of the infamous Ring of Fire, and is also subject to the effects of tectonic turmoil...building codes, with earthquakes in mind, are stricter nowadays, but will be tested as experts are again warning that a large seismic event is inevitable sometime in the next 200 years...certainly the danger has been high-lighted once more after the tragedy that has devastated the Japanese people

Terrific black and white city image. The reflections are wonderful. We can only hope that all the major cities on the Ring of Fire will have enough warning systems in place to spare them the tragic times the Japanese are experiencing. ~V~

Excellent B/W David and earthquakes are part of the probability in this part of the world, as are volcanos. I just hope we don't experience anything like this last one....

Very true - a very sobering thought. That aside, this is a wonderful image. the mono treatment really gives it a strong graphic appeal. Nicely done as always, David. ~BV~
