On October 09 I have spent a week in Sinai desert, with the goal of taking pictures of migrating Raptors. Although most part of my time was dedicated to birds, I had the chance ( 12 years after the first time ) to see again the incredible colors of Red Sea,and to explore for the first time the world of underwater photography. My equipment was very simple, a Panasonic TZ6 camera with a soft plastic case, cheap but effective. I had some problem to solve : delay of the shot, uneasy vision of monitor, impossibility to be steady cause obviously is not allowed to grab the reef. However, I'm not disappointed with results considering I have gotten the shots in a total of 120' under the sea.

Nell'Ottobre 2009 in occasione del mio viaggio in Sinai dedicato alla fotografia dei Rapaci in migrazione,ho effettuato le mie prime immagini subacquee. La modalità è stata semplice, ho utilizzato la compatta Panasonic Lumix TZ6 con scafandratura in plastica morbida modello Nereus, poco costosa ( 40-50euro) ma efficiente. Ho incontrato ovvie difficoltà, prima delle quali il ritardo allo scatto della compatta che, seppure modesto, poco si accorda coi continui movimenti dei pesci, poi l'utilizzo in apnea, il non avere punti di appoggio ( per non toccare la barriera corallina ), l'abituarsi alla visione dello schermo coperto dalla plastica con relativi riflessi. Premesso tutto ciò, non sono dispiaciuto dei risultati, considerando che sono il frutto di non più di 2 ore trascorse in acqua ( in pratica la somma di 3 nuotate effettuate a giorni alterni al parco di Ras Mohamed al termine di sfibranti mattine trascorse sotto il sole a 35° in attesa dei migratori ).
