Bee-Eaters

On Summer 2006 I had for the first time the chance to photograph life of a Bee-eaters' colony. These colourful birds, summer visitors in Italy, bring an exotical note in our sky.
I had to pay a great price in term of sweat to take the pics ( most of them were taken from car window in June and July ), but I was satisfied.Yet, even more satisfying was the short distance observation of the behaviour of these social birds, while the air resounded with their calls ( kind of a soft rolling 'pruut' ).
I have now added some more recent images.
