A new pair of mute swans is building a nest on the lake. The male will not tolerate any newcomers. When he patrols and spots a new goose, duck or swan he will come flying barely touching the the water surface with the tips of his immense wings. You can hear the sharp slaps and you know some other bird is in big trouble.
