Touch Down in Wiltshire

Wiltshire natives, apparently, are nicknamed "moonrakers", due to a story of how they managed to foil the Excise men by hiding barrels of brandy in a pond in Devizes. In order to hide the barrels they caused ripples to form on the pond by raking it, telling the officials they were trying to retrieve a round of cheese which actually was the reflection of the moon. The officials left convinced the Wiltshire natives were mad.
