Ukrainian Internment

Vernon, BC

It's the 100th anniversary of the closing of the internment camp
in Vernon which operated 1914 to 1920. Thousands of Ukrainians
and other Europeans considered "enemy aliens" were interned
across Canada during WWI

a regrettable event, shameful even...all Ukrainians tarnished with the same brush, despite no clear threat...kept two years after war's end as well!!...well done to highlight that unsavoury bit of BC history..
