Pierre Marcotte, born in Montreal, Québec in 1931, Pierre passed away peacefully with his son and eldest granddaughter by his side on May 28, 2014. Predeceased by his wife Betty and daughter Michele. Cherished father of Denis and favourite "Grampy" of Rachel, Devin, Nicole, Laura and James. Fondly remembered by his siblings Claude and Micheline. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Friends and family are invited to visit at the St. Laurent Chapel of Hulse, Playfair& McGarry, 1200 Ogilvie Road (at Aviation Parkway) on Saturday May 31 at 10 am until the time of the Funeral Service in the Chapel at 11am. Reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers donations in Pierre's name to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
from Phil Gies: I worked on the same crew 3 as Pierre 'Pete' Marcotte from 1969-1976, always a good guy to work with. During the latter part of an evening shift we would often play our own version of Jeopardy and Pete's wife Betty was the authority for anything to do with movies, and she was called often. A favourite memory was the winter of '70 or '71. A big Northeastern snowstorm had closed Boston and Montreal became an alternate airport. Operations staff filled up the spare gates and then closed 10-28 and parked all the unexpected jet arrivals on that runway. When the rush was over, Pete stood up, pencil always behind his right ear, and and with his great smile, announced to all; "Send us more jets!" It was a good night with a good crew.
