Il laisse dans le deuil, outre son épouse; ses enfants : Ann-Miville Des Chênes (Martin Bergeron) et Lynn-Miville Des Chênes (Luc Martin); ses petits-enfants : Pénélope, Virginie, Marie-Laurence, Marc-Antoine et Juliette; ses belles-sours et beaux-frères : France Chamberland (feu Jean Miville-Deschênes), feu Yolande Miville-Deschênes, Georgette Tardif (feu Ulric Desjardins), feu Louis Tardif (Étiennette Larouche), Jacqueline Tardif, Gisèle Tardif (feu Jean-Marie Synnett), Denise Tardif, Donald Tardif (Francine Savard); ainsi que ses neveux, nièces, cousins, cousines et ami(e)s des familles Des Chênes et Tardif ainsi que de nombreux amis et collègues.

from Phil Gies: I met Yvan in the early '70s in UL ACC and I recall him as a pleasant person who always dressed in a suit and tie. He had a career in aviation in Quebec beyond atc. Link to an article in le Soleil .

from Alain Jacques: In the early 90s when Québec TCU was transfered to YUL, he did come to work in the center for a while but never moved out of Québec city. After a short stay he retired and started his own business as an aviation consultant. Until his death he worked for one for the CBC RDI news network as an aviation specialist on aviation news.
