Wild garlic and King Henry VIII.

This clump of wild garlic covers the remains of an early 16th century building though to aid the loading of the iron ore from the mines in the forest onto carts for transportation to the smelting works at Tongwynlais. There was extensive working here during the reign of Henry VIII. There is also evidence in the area of Roman industrial activity.
