I was stationed with the 3960th Security Police Squadron, Third Air Division (SAC), from 1965 to 1967. I spent much of my off duty time skin diving at Tarague Beach. The water was so warm and the beauty of the tropical fish unimaginable. We had many parties in the cave and I also remember looking out toward the Island of Rhota. I would love to go back there some day because I have such fond memories of Tarague Beach and it's unsurpassing beauty.

I was assigned to the 43rd Security Police Sqd. From 08 February '80 - 27 April '81. I fell in love with the rock! Tarague Beach cave was the sight of many cookouts. I decided I would retire there before I left, I was just 21. In a few days I will be 50, and the love I still feel for this place is just as strong. Thank you for the beautiful shots. Did not see one of sewing machine rock, but I have one that is framed that I took.

Part of my best memories of Guam (1961 to 1964 as an air force dependent; I have not been back since) are Tarague beach. You photo is great. Do you have a photo in the opposite direction with a view of the sand, palm trees, water and cliffs off in the distance? As much as I like the view near the cave of coral formations my best memories are of other views at Tarague. Another view as you enter the beach off the road from the air base above is through the canopy of palm trees, out across the sand, to the water and to the reef beyond is spectacular. I also remember seeing another island from the beach, Rota island.
