The Olympus camera I use for the Underwater and Kayak pictures was a model 5060 Wide Zoom, housed in the Olympus Underwater Housing (model PT-020). I subsequently upgraded to an Olympus TG-2, TG-3 and currently a TG-4. I use the Olympus housing rather than the Ikelite housing as it is about 1/3rd the price (and about half as good).

As to being quiet underwater, I'm certified in both traditional "open circuit" SCUBA and "closed circuit" rebreathers. Rebreathers are quiet, bubbles are noisy, even from 50-feet away. But that is not the only source of noise, there are boat motors and generators that can be heard from hundreds of feet away, and fish. Yes fish make noises, whether they be small or large. Most fish have swim bladders that they can use to make noises for one reason or another. The other constant noise you hear in the Caribbean is a clicking sort of sound. This could be anything from shrimp getting aggressive, to parrotfish crunching on the coral.
