Tuesday, February 20, 2024, I drove out to the small community of Kenton in the northwest corner of the Oklahoma panhandle, where I met a birder/photography friend. From there, we drove north a few miles into southeastern Colorado. Just north of Black Mesa, we spotted one of the abundant mule deer in the area crossing the road in front of us. Their ears stick out as far as their antlers!
