Before I took this picture, I considered whether it was appropriate to take a photo of skulls of murder victims. I took it, thinking it was a memorial so it was ok. Later, at the Tuol Sleng Prison, I saw rows and rows of 8 x 10 b/w photos of condemned prisoners taken by the Pol Pot regime. The photos were haunting as people generally stared, terrified, into the camera. I couldn't bring myself to take a picture of those photos.
