Went birding with guide Indra up the 2958 meter high Gunung Gede, which was haunting my dreams for the last twelve months.....to me Gede is one of the best mountain for birding in South-East Asia. However, since my last visit in 1998, most of the "bigger" birds are vanished due to extensive hunting and trapping (for eating!!). I think at least an estimated 20-30% less birds are living at the mountain right now. Luckily for me though I still scored some 15 lifers!! After a fantastic lunch we were completely washed from the mountain when rain was pooring down and sadly it continued all evening.
