Desert tree Frog, Colleeneremia rubella

Coolatai NSW Australia

Short, round and fat- not a typical buid for a tree frog, but living in the drier environments of Australia required this little frog
(about 45mm in length) to reduce its surface area to mass ratio, and being round helps. These frogs produce a rather piercing
sound around temporary swamps during the periodic rain events that occur where they live in the semi-arid zones of Australia.
