Fishing Spider, Dolomedes sp.

Springwood NSW Australia

These remarkable spiders have very long legs with hairy tips which allow them to walk across the surface of the water.
Given their general legginess and spidery qualities I am glad that i have not seen them do this, as otherwise I would be
reluctant to ever go swimming anywhere near these animals. Mind you, with the gigantic freshwater crayfish that live
underneath the water where these occur, i am unsure if fishing spiders should be my major concern.
