Animals often look very peculiar to us but they all look the way they do because their appearence confers some advantage, either
by improving their reproductive success or by increasing their chances of surviving to maturity. The globular shape of this frog
provides it with a reduced surface to mass ratio, so it loses less moisture through its skin. The narrow mouth allows the frog to
catch small ants and termites that make up the bulk of its diet more effectively than other burrowing frogs, and the bright
colouration warns of toxic secretions in the frog's skin so that things that eat frogs will think twice before eating this one.
