The Butterfly Nebula ( IC1318) in Cygnus

Nerpio/Spain

IC1318 is part of a hugh emission nebula surrounding Gamma Cygni ( the bright star on the right), the heart of Cygnus.
The image is a composite of three seperate captures made of the emission lines of hydrogen (Ha, 656.3nm), oxygen (OIII,495.9nm and 500.7nm), and sulfur (SII,671.9nm and 673.0nm), were SII:Ha:OIII has been mapped to R:G:B.
