Lake Fausee and The Grand Isle

Lake Faussee is located south of Lafayette, Louisiana and is the heart of the Cajun country. After spending a few days at the lake I took off for The Grand Isle by traveling Highway 1 south to the end. The Isle sits out in the Gulf of Mexico and is due south of New Orleans. I ran into the French Food Festival in a small town north of the Isle called Larose and sampled many of the dishes made for the event. Also got to listen to some home town Cajun music. The whole town was out to celebrate the festival.
