Tree frogs were encountered about the Homeplace with regular frequency during the summer of 2003, likely due to the extraordinary rainfall we experienced thoughout the Northeast region of the USA. This fellow ... a gray tree frog ... was actually found in the house. Its sticky-moist skin had picked up dog hair, etc., turning it into a "fur ball" that made it barely perceptable as a frog. After letting it imbibe water for about half an hour, I then carefully teased away the hairs from its skin with a pair of dissecting forceps successfully releasing it back into the wild in a swamp just back of our place.
