Loved these photos. I made it as far as Southern Chile last year (Lots of images in my portfolios) and visited the Magellanic penguins at Otway to see them in their burrows. Certainly more powerful to see them active on the ice and the wonderful glaciers. One day I hope to return and do the Antarctic trip. - Dan

Breathtaking images of the cold continent. WOWWWEEE Thanks for making them available. I plan to use a couple to illustrate a talk on astrobiology at a high school. This ties in via endolithic organisms found in Antarctic rocks, similar to what we might expect on Mars, and other worlds.

7 Dittos here & I think it's safe to say you can add a ditto for any subsequent comments that appear here... I especially liked the shots with the ship in the background. They really show the perspective. It was nice of the natives to get all dressed up in thier tux's for you... Literally & figuratively "A Whale of an Adventure of Chilling, Volcanic proportions".

Georgia, these are among the most spectacular pictures I have seen. I never knew how beautiful Antarctica is. I eagerly await your other photos. I also did not know that there were different species of Penguins - was surprised to see the ones with the orange beaks and the ones you call Chinastraps. You have given me a real education. I was amazed by the soft blue of the icebergs.

I had to put on my jacket to look at these...your background color is perfect for snow, ice, and water pictures. I like the panoramas, and the glaciers (?) with the steep sides are really impressive, as are the whales. You're off to a great start!
