The Master has ordained that a new gallery should be launched to cover the use of the so called superzoom bridge cameras. Robaire, too slow to dodge the command, received the orders and reluctantly opens the dialogue.
For the record the first camera shown has a 35mm equivalent of 24mm to 720mm or 30X zoom. In fact, his somewhat limited walking range led first to a 2009 re-examination of SLRs which were found particularly to be awkward
for lens changing and their general weight a disadvantage.
This is a highly personal opinion and no criticism of SLR: It is simply a matching of equipment to needs. Compact Bridge won. Hopefully others will play their part as it follows that any zoom above Fourtwenty should be included here and there are a few already around.
The first row of pics Two pairs of max wide angle to max zoom: 24mm-720mm (In 35mm film speak)
We have included the first of many pano to be shot with the 720. Easily recognised by the letterbox thumbnail.
Here are our first tests of the new Lumix FZ100. See the last three pics before the old ship.
