Wonderful and subtile photo, it is a part 'self-portrait' and the leave makes it more than a good compostition ;)

excellent Galina and the single leaf in color is enough to make this a very "Melancholy" image

It's a beautiful composition Galina. The colour in the leaf adds a special touch to the image, but still I think that this photo would look equally powerful totally in b&w. I love it.

Complex composition, but well done! It works really well. Love the atmosphere, the idea of the bench and your shadow. Great light and tones too!

I see a note in that shadow, and you left a colorful leaf to let us know what tune is playing. Clever title. I like the long shadows!

It almost seems as if a piece of you has perished along with this leaf, as one season passes into another. A small detail, but the color leaf stands out from your shadow as a harbinger of colder days to come. The device you use turns fact into fiction, which works in this case. You are not talking about reality here, but rather are using the colored leaf in a black and white image as a metaphor.

Be careful of using such techniques, however, when it comes to photographing reality. One of my students, Kal Khogali used a similar graphic approach today in a picture he intended as a tragic study of realities in Shanghai, and I think it backfired on him. See:http://www.pbase.com/image/50805853 A few weeks earlier, Kal used this same device very successfully under less tragic circumstances athttp://www.pbase.com/shangheye/image/44635402 All of which shows us that its not the graphic technique itself at issue, but rather how and why it is used.

A tune of low sun, clear light and long shadows. Very original.. I note a suggestion of another figure, deep in the shadows.

Low light and fallen leaves. Here is autumn.
