Leo Trio (NGC 3628, M66, and M65)

Lying about 35 million light years away in the constellation of Leo, this group of gravitationally bound galaxies is commonly referred to as the Leo Trio or Leo Triplet. It comprises NGC 3628 (right), M66 (left), and M65 (bottom). Note how the gravitational effects of one upon the other have thickened and warped the disk of NGC 3628 and stretched out the arms of M66.

It's worth viewing this image at full resolution (click "Original" below) to appreciate the fine detail and background galaxies that has been captured.

This is an 8.25 hr LRGB image (180, 105, 90, 120 mins). All subs were 15 mins (unbinned).
FOV is 63 x 44 arcmins @ 1.05 arcsec/pixel.
