I bought this charm in Japan. It's a fox which is this symbol of the Inari Shrine that I bought it from. The Japanese hang these charms on their mobile phones, as demonstrated by my friend Kim *here* . I think it's quite sweet.

I must be a curmudgeon. While the idea LOOKS appealing, all i can think of is another chiming, rattling, noisy attachment to cell phones, which i detest! The photo, however, is quite lovely. :-)

these charms are quite common among asians in general, even here in America, not just Japan; although i wouldn't be surprised if it originated from there. they can be quite cute. so do you keep this charm on your phone? :)

the shadow of the rope makes it look like he has a long tail. :)
