Rosa's shades

We went to Richmond Park for a family picnic and Rosa was wearing her new sunglasses and sporting this new curly hairstyle. Her mum said it only took an hour to do the hair... hahah.

Great shot and great expression! Nice day for a trip to Richmond Park as well! We were there just over a month ago!

Ah, the teen years. Still I would rather a daughter who takes pride in how she looks than some I see getting around. Rosa is a very attrctive girl, with or without the shades.

Well I think she looks great, definitely worth waiting an hour for!
Nice portrait Gail.

a very lovely portrait of a very lovely girl. but i must ask, what happened to her other pair of shades? http://www.pbase.com/gaild/image/40712862 :) although these do look nice on her as well. nice hairdo, movie star indeed. :)

it's nice to see you putting the 55mm f/14 to use. there are portions of this photo that indeed look very sharp, notably the strands of hair at the edges. however, her face and the glasses are softer. i think the focus might've been off, i.e. on her hair instead of her eyes (or rather shades). i'm not too sure how the 300D's focusing works, but if it's anything like my A70 where it automatically selects a focus area on its own, no doubt it went for the hair because it's the area of highest contrast in this photo. again, if it's anything like the A70, i normally disable the "Ai AF" and lock it in at the center point (focus and recompose); it's much more predictable this way. in the end though, this is a very nice portrait, and that's all that matters, so don't let my tech talk distract you from that.
