We took a 5+ mile hike today along the Old Sauk Trail near Darrington, Washington.

The trail follows along the Sauk River, winding into the woods and back to the riverbanks.
There are numerous ferns, fungi, and old-growth cedar trees to keep one (or two) company.
This little spot of light waited patiently while I photographed it.
