At the south end of the woods, a black squirrel has taken over a nesting box. These boxes were intended to shelter birds during stormy winter weather, but squirrels soon remodeled them (see the new more squirrel-convenient door at the top right corner of the box?). The hole at the bottom, which was better for birds, is blocked with grass and leaves that make up the squirrel's winter bed.(SG)
