Bee box

FWG Amphibian Pond

Several bee boxes like this one were installed at the FWG in 2013 by an AAFC scientist who was doing a survey of local native bees. The boxes were well used, and when the project was finished, the scientist kindly donated the boxes to the FWG. This one is next to our Amphibian Pond. Although it is now somewhat shaded by sumacs, mud and flowering trees are nearby, and it was used by mason bees in spring 2015.
