Black Walnut tree (Juglans nigra)C

Fletcher Wildlife Garden

This tree is on the edge of our first and largest "crop circle", the name we have given to areas large and small around the Fletcher Wildlife Garden, where dog-strangling vine (DSV) is noticeable by its absence. That is, it grows nearby in profusion, but not within these particular areas. We've often wondered if the walnut trees have anything to do with this and so far, we don't know. For more on these DSV-free areas see: http://www.pbase.com/fwg/dsvfree_circles This latter gallery was set up by Sandy.
