Ladybeetle Brachiacantha

These tiny (3-4mm) ladybeetles are so small that they can be easily overlooked, but I believe they are probably not as common as many other ladybeetles in our area. They seem to be closely associated with common and swamp milkweeds. However, they seem to feed not on aphids (which are often found on milkweeds) but on mealybugs and scale insects.
