I worked for Mr. Hielscher in the early 70's at Green Valley. I started at the tech check in and eventually started announcing when the regular track announcer, Eddie, had a heart attack. He came back 4 months later in time for the WinterNationals. Mr. Hielscher rewarded my stepping in as announcer by letting me announce the Prelims. of The Nationals that year. It was an awesome experience for a high school kid from North Richland Hills. M. Skipper

Thanks very much for sharing these pics. I was just a young child back then, but remember going to Green Valley and Dallas International with my father many times
