After our dinner at Oriental Harbour, we didn't feel like going back to our hotel room just yet. It was only 11pm and the night was still young. (When you're as old as I am, you don't need much sleep anymore.) So we drove all the way from Richmond Hill to the Marche Movenpick in downtown Toronto for a late-night snack. It's open till 2am every day, so it's a great place to go when everything else is closed.
My wife and I enjoyed the warm, cheerful atmosphere of the place. It reminded us of the Cellar, the food marketplace at the Macy's Department Store in New York City. It's a quasi-buffet where we ordered from the various food stations, had the chefs mark our chits, and brought our freshly prepared food back to the table to eat.
I had some raw oysters and a spectacular mixed berries crepe (heaped high with strawberries and local wildberries, which look like tiny blueberries), and washed it all down with a huge cup of capuccino.
So far during this trip, I haven't had trouble sleeping after noshing all day long. But after mixing oysters, berries and coffee, I'm not too sure about tonight.
