Here is Ah Dee with his sister (on the right), my daughter, and my son-in-law. They had just finished a large meal with Ah Dee's parents at Scalini Fedeli, a fine French/Italian restaurant in downtown Manhattan. Everyone at the table ordered the seared foie gras with calvados appetizer, one of the restaurant's signature dishes. I am partial to it myself, especially with a nice sauterne.

Scalini Fedeli has a beautiful vaulted ceiling and custom-made stained glass depicting the faithful steps ("scalini fedeli"). Year after year, it receives top ratings for exquisite food and service. The chef/owner knows my daughter and son-in-law as regulars here, and kindly sent out extra desserts and wine on the house.
