![]() Same, with the clouds. |
![]() Back to the car some sleeping bees. |

![]() Zentrum Plaul Klee in Berne. Superb. |
![]() Berne, the bridge next to the bears's pit. |
![]() The bears. The two small ones to go to Rumania in September as they won't be able to live with their mother once they grow up. |
![]() The Museum of Communication: Some of the first *mobile* phones. |
![]() Inside the Museum of Communication. |
![]() Some typical teenager's room around 1968 as shown in the Historical Museum. The Einstein Museum is also in the same bulding. This isthe largest Einstein Museum worldwide. Actually it tells far more than just Einstein, including the history of war and physics at this time. |
![]() This and the three next pictures are taken from the Natural History Museum. No furhter comments. |

![]() The Museum of Fine Arts in Berne. At the time of the visits there were some extraordinary temporary exhibitions of Ernest Biéler and Martin Ziegelmüller. I surely will return. |
![]() Klee, normal, in Bern. |
![]() Mark Rothko. |
![]() I love this picture, result of the meeting between a photographer and an artist (whose names escape my mind right now). |
![]() Back in Begnins and just down to Prangins in the Swiss National Museum. |

![]() And in Sion to visit the Ancien Pénitencier (old penitentiary) hosting items from convents and monasteries. |

![]() Fondation Gianadda, Martigny. Only the outside sculptures as it's not allowed to take pictures inside. |
![]() |
![]() As I inadvertendly touched the speed button, the 5 Gianadda pictures are all at 1/4000th instead of Auto! This is one drawback of the X100: you always need to check the settings. The good point is that they're all visible in the viewfinder. |

![]() Back in Chamonix. |
![]() Saturday we decided to visit Arts Môtiers. On the way we stopped in Sainte Croix to visit the CIMA museum where there are so many music boxes, automatas and other stuff done in this village. As this is the head of Reuge, and was also of Paillard Bolex. Fixed hours for the visit. Superb. Go for it.

![]() The 214 pieces to build a small bird singing music box! |
![]() Animated sceneries. The guide made sure to have all the display back to the original bucolic scene, just in case he would have a schoolclasses coming (he only shows this to adults). |
![]() The guide showing one removable cylinder from a music box. These are done by local women, inserting one pin at a time with a precision that goes beyond the milimeter. |

![]() The Thorens TD 124. I had one (without the automatic mechanism on the left). When I sold my weekend farm I didn't want to restore it and only took with me the daughter TD 125. Still playing in my home. |
![]() I have the same mechanism, but not with this spledid modern design. This one costs around CHF 2,000.-. |
![]() The previous one had 72 bades, this one has the double! Up to nine songs on one roll! After each turn it's slightly moving to the side to pick the other set of pins.
|
![]() Just moving the feet makes the paper roll moving forward and the piano playing. |
![]() Belgian music machine from the 1950. This was used to animate the evenings when the cyclist race was arriving in a village or city. Beind is an organ and 80 kg of perforated paper to make the tunes play. |
![]() A musical spirit level! |
![]() Not a medium, just my other half reading the newspaper. |
![]() Môtiers ( http://www.artmotiers.ch/ ). About 3-4 hours hiking in the fields and the woods for this splendid exhibition that is on show every 4 years. Check also www.pbase.com/fschoch/motiers and www.pbase.com/fschoch/motiers_2011 . |
![]() This si one of the works: a golden wall. |
![]() The main street and begin of the exhibition Arts Môtiers. |

![]() Sitting place for a small movie telling the (sad) story of a flying house's initiatic trip near the abyss. |
![]() Inside the forest and after a solid climbing nearby a waterfall the entrance of this cavern iys another piece on display. Seemingly it produces music when there is wind. Today, it was only hot. |
![]() On the top of the forest a clearing, and a slatted fence leading to a refreshment stall. |
![]() Inside the stall, another work. |
![]() Last work, at the other end of Môtiers. |
