So the election is over. America has spoken. We have a lot of work to do in this country, and it's not all on Obama to fix. We have our own day to day problems to take care of, in addition to making sure we hold our local elected officials accountable and make sure our voice is heard. We're in some tough times and I still think it's going to get worse before it gets better. As for the national issues at hand, I'm looking forward to seeing what cabinet Obama puts together before I get too excited.
As the old joke goes.. How do you know when a politician is lying? His lips are moving. I hope we all understand that campaign promises are just that. Promises. A few might be kept, who knows? Prez-elect is going to be getting his hands on some top secret info over the next few days. At what point it's quite possible that he's going to sit back and say to himself, "Ohhhhhhhh...so THAT'S why!" He's about to undergo a trial by fire that few people are able to survive without gaining a LOT of gray hair. Welcome to the most powerful position on the planet. Game on.
So there's #2 son up above. Laying in his crib. Oblivious as to what the world is like today, other than to hope that mommy brings the food on time, and can make that burning sensation on his ass go away. So he's happy for now, but he has a bath coming up, so his mood will change pretty soon. I'm feeling quite the same way right now. What will the country have in store for him when he chooses to have children of his own? I don't know, but it scares the shit out of me on a daily basis.
So, just like Eli, I am happy...for now. But we're all due for a bath on January 20th.
Hope the water is warm.
