Little finger in evidence.
Behind, a map of the world and a caravel.
It's the alto-rilievo of Cristoforo Colombo.
It's placed under the arcades of Prefecture, in Piazza Castello(Castle Square).
It's difficult to resist temptation to not touch it.
It's a lucky gesture, as trampling on the balls of "Torello" in Piazza San Carlo.
The sculpture, a real talisman, was made by sculptur Dino Somà
and reminds of the participation of Italian volounteers
emigrated in South America during World War I.
After all these lucky rubbings,
Colombo's little finger got worn out
and some years ago it was removed and replaced.
Today it's again consumed and maybe soon it will need a new intervention.
