It's also the most expensive restaurant in town...

Torino (Italy)

In the entrance, there is a small and beautiful portrait of a count.
This is count Camillo Benso, the count of Cavour,
who used to come here to eat.
Indeed here in piazza Carignano, the count would spend his days at the parliament.
Del Cambio is full of antique furnishings,
golden stucco work, waiters in livery (who provide the most solicitous service).
Indeed Del Cambio is by far the most luxurious and elegant restaurant in Turin.
And it’s also a piece of history (it originated as a café in 1757).
Even if you are not Gioberti or Rattazzi,
you will nonetheless be served with courtesy.
The menu consists of traditional dishes made with great care.
I wanted to get the full effect
and ask for the last table in back to the right of the dining room:
this was the Count’s table.
But Bruna refused to invite me there and told me I should have invited her insted.
Unluckily she was totally right, but my credit card
would not have allowed me such an expense...
Del Cambio is just a few meters away from teatro Carignano,
palazzo Carignano, and the famous gelateria Pepino.
So we went to have just an ice cream instead!
