Here you can see on the wall the portraits of two famous people born in Malaga, Pablo Picasso and Antonio Molina ( no, I didn’t say Banderas, I said Molina).
Antonio Molina was born in Málaga, in 1928 and he died in Madrid, in 1992.
He was a Flamenco and popular singer and actor in films and on theatrical stage. He had a very high, brilliant, peculiar voice, and he’s considered the most important interpreter of Spanish copla.
At this stage I suppose that all the people who are not Spanish are wondering what in the world the “copla” is is.
Don’t worry, here is Frimpong the expert of Spanish music…The “copla” is a form of Spanish popular song, deriving from the poetic form of the same name. It started getting very popular in the 40’s.
