I would agree the the mauve/purple hue does make the image look a bit strange -- lovely as it is ...

I checked this image and the white part of the sky is 248-253-240. The "white" birch is 138-140-147 The gray on the dock is 133-115-145 I could not see a true black to test. I dont know what mauve is. What do you suggest?

Nice shot, but the image has a strong blue/mauve cast that takes away from this very fine image.

Thanks for your comments Lanni - yes I believe it was the "kit lens" which has given me great results. Just saw the Ansel Adams exhibit at the MFA in Boston. As he said (and I shoot raw) the negative is the "score" and the print is the "performance". Went by this spot this year and the birches on the left are suffering quite a bit - and may not make it. It seems some get hit and others not. Fred Parsons
